ODI: grip, riding position and handlebar control
ODI develops grips, handlebars and control components for different riding styles. The American brand manufactures its grips in its own facilities and created the Lock-On system, which uses a mechanical clamp to secure the grip to the handlebar. Its range includes solutions for motocross and enduro, road and V-Twin riding, as well as references for ATVs, personal watercraft and cycling. Every application has its own requirements; sharing a family name does not make parts interchangeable.
Choosing a setup starts with the vehicle and the controls already installed. Grip shape affects contact with your hand, handlebar geometry changes your riding position, and the mounts must match the intended diameter and system. This page lets you explore the brand’s product families and find both the main component and the accessories needed to complete its installation or maintain it.
Grips: choose the system before the pattern
The ODI grips range includes Lock-On systems alongside Slip-On and Glue-On models. The former use clamps, while the latter require the securing procedure specified for each reference. The Emig, Rogue, Ruffian and Half-Waffle families, together with the Vans/Cult collaborations, offer different surfaces and shapes. Consider feel, texture and usable grip area alongside the intended use, rather than choosing solely by appearance.
Also distinguish the left-hand grip from the grip fitted over a throttle tube. With a thumb-throttle application, the requirements on both sides differ from those of a motorcycle with a twist throttle. Micro-X and Pee-Wee versions belong to specific small-diameter setups. Check the mounting dimensions, usable length, ends and receiving controls; a commercial name such as Universal does not remove the need for these checks.
Handlebars and mounts to adjust your position
The Podium handlebars selection includes the Flight, CFT and SE families, plus solutions for V-Twins and small-capacity machines. Width, height and sweep determine hand position. ODI warns that its bends do not necessarily reproduce the dimensions of an original handlebar: compare the published geometry with the existing setup and your desired riding position before selecting a reference.
Handlebar mounts and risers cater for certain mounting arrangements and diameter changes. Not all mounts or adapters perform the same function or include the same parts. Check the mounting base, the handlebar’s central clamp diameter and the height increase of the assembly. The fasteners must be those specified for that configuration, and cables and hoses must have enough room throughout the full steering movement.
Throttle, padding and small replacement parts
The Fusion throttles and throttle tubes work with Snap-Cam cams from the compatible family. The cam connects the tube to the vehicle’s control mechanism and is selected using the relevant application guide. There are plastic tubes and aluminium versions, including Fusion Pro. Before installation, confirm the receiving assembly, the required cam and the clearance needed for the throttle to open and return correctly.
Handlebar pads come in versions for a crossbar or for the clamp area, so check the shape and available space. Bar ends protect the ends and use their own securing system. Under accessories and replacement parts, you will find cams, clamps, grip donuts, covers, mounts and bolts; always identify the family of the component you intend to retain.
Check the installation and complete the setup
The range also includes safety wire for installations that require it and fuel-tank mounting hardware for a specific application. The catalogue additionally contains a Signature number plate for Downhill: it belongs to the cycling application stated on its product page and should not be confused with a motorcycle-specific plate. These small items serve their own purpose and do not replace the main components of the installation.
Read the exact contents of each product page and the ODI instructions before preparing the work. Keep surfaces clean, use suitable fasteners and follow the specified sequence and tightening torques for the components. After fitting, check control movement, clearances and the security of the assembly. Your choice should be based on the reference, application and verified dimensions, as well as the intended use of the vehicle.
