Last updated: October 31, 2026. Some cookies keep the shop working; others help us understand how it is used or measure advertising. Here is the difference and how you can choose. You can shop without accepting optional cookies.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files your browser stores when you visit a website. They can keep you signed in or remember your basket. We also use similar technologies, such as local storage, tags and pixels. We refer to them collectively as cookies on this page.

2. The categories we use

  • Necessary: support sessions, baskets, security, payments, preferences you request and saving your cookie choice. They are used to provide those functions and cannot be switched off in the category selector.
  • Analytics: help measure visits and browsing, find errors and adapt recommendations to recent interests. They include Motarea features, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity when active. Their cookies require your consent.
  • Marketing: measure campaigns, attribute purchases and personalise advertising through Google Ads or Meta when those features are active. Their cookies require your consent.

3. Main cookies and durations

The cookies you find depend on your choices and the features you use. An asterisk identifies a cookie family whose names may vary.

Cookie or family Provider Purpose Reference duration
PrestaShop-*, PHPSESSID, REMEMBERME Motarea Session and requested sign-in; basket operation. Session or up to 20 days, depending on the cookie.
ma_listing_preferences Motarea Remembers the display preferences you choose. Session.
motarea_consent, motarea_consent_visitor Motarea Remembers and links your cookie choice to the browser. Up to 180 days.
motarea_consent_csrf Motarea Protects requests to change consent. Up to 2 hours.
mtap_recent_categories, mtap_recent_intent Motarea Remembers recent interests for recommendations when the Analytics category is accepted. Up to 30 days.
_ga, _ga_* Google Analytics Distinguishes visits and maintains analytics session state. Up to 2 years by default; browsers may shorten this.
_clck, _clsk Microsoft Clarity Connects visits and sessions to analyse website use. _clck: up to 1 year; _clsk: up to 1 day.
_gcl_* Google Ads Measures advertising campaigns and conversions. Up to 90 days.
_fbc Meta Links a visit to a click on a Meta advertisement. Up to 90 days.

Third-party durations are references and may vary with configuration, renewal or browser limits. You can check the exact expiry of stored cookies in your browser’s site-data settings. Some disappear when the session ends; others remain until they expire or you delete them.

4. Third-party services

Payment or sign-in services may use their own identifiers, such as Stripe’s __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid for fraud prevention, or Google’s g_state to manage sign-in state. Their use and duration depend on the service requested and the provider’s configuration.

Read more about Google cookies, Microsoft Clarity cookies and Stripe cookies.

5. Signals sent without cookies

Some services, such as Google or Microsoft, may receive limited technical cookieless signals according to their consent mode, even when you do not accept optional categories. This does not authorise cookies you have rejected. No cookies does not necessarily mean no personal data: that processing must have a valid legal basis and comply with privacy law.

6. Choosing or changing your mind

  1. Open Cookie settings in the footer.
  2. Choose to Accept all, keep Necessary only or Configure categories separately.
  3. Save your choice. You can return to the same panel to change it or withdraw consent.

Continuing to browse does not mean acceptance. Rejecting Analytics or Marketing does not stop you shopping. We keep your choice for up to 180 days unless you change it earlier or a significant change requires renewal. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.

7. Managing cookies in your browser

You can also view, block or delete cookies in your browser’s privacy settings. Blocking necessary cookies may affect sign-in, baskets or payment. Deleting cookies may make the site ask for your choice again; it does not replace withdrawing consent through Motarea’s panel.

8. Privacy and contact
