Motorcycle Footpegs and Foot Controls
This category covers the components used to support the rider’s or passenger’s feet and operate selected controls from the lower part of the motorcycle. It includes rider and passenger footpegs, platforms, brake pedals, shift levers, kick starters, rearsets, hardware, and other accessories needed for installation or maintenance.
Your choice depends on the type of part you need to replace or adapt and the position you want to retain. A footpeg does not serve the same purpose as a platform, while a brake pedal or shift lever must match the motorcycle’s operating system. Rearsets change the location of the foot supports and controls, so carefully review their configuration before choosing them.
What to Check Before Choosing
- Compatibility: check the motorcycle’s make, model, year, and version, as well as the mounting side and whether the part is intended for the rider or passenger.
- Measurements and mounting points: verify the anchor points, axle or pin diameter, hardware, and available space around the frame, exhaust, and controls.
- Position: confirm whether you need to retain the original location or want a more rearward, raised, or adjustable setup.
- Function: distinguish between a foot support, an operating pedal, and an auxiliary mounting component to avoid replacing different parts that look similar.
- Installation: check whether you are selecting an individual part, an assembly, or an accessory, and retain the applicable installation layout and fastening hardware.
