Pivot Works: bearings and seals for chassis and suspension
Pivot Works offers bearing and seal kits for maintaining motorcycle and ATV chassis and suspension. Its range covers wheels, steering, swingarms, linkages, forks, shocks and A-arms. This specialisation lets you search by the component requiring attention, distinguishing pivot points, bearing supports and sealing elements. The correct part depends on the part number and its specific application.
Depending on the application, its kits bring together bearings, seals, pins, spacers, bushings and washers. Check the contents on each product page: a bearing kit, a seal set and a shock rebuild kit address different jobs. Before ordering, identify the component and position, review the supplied parts and check which components must be retained or replaced separately.
Wheels and steering: locate the worn component
The wheel kits group the part numbers for wheel bearings and associated components. When choosing, distinguish front or rear wheel, hub configuration and application. Check whether the contents cover one wheel, a set of wheels or another specific bearing support. Do not infer the scope of supply solely from a product-family photograph.
For steering kits, the choice must account for bearing type, the corresponding races and the specified seals. Before replacing parts, identify what is causing play or stiff steering. Preload, the condition of the bearing seats and the fitting procedure affect the outcome just as much as the choice of replacement component.
Swingarms, linkages and A-arms
The swingarm kits and linkage kits address different pivot points in the rear suspension. Check which shaft or pivot each kit fits and whether it includes the bushings, spacers and seals required for that position. Play felt at the wheel does not, by itself, identify which of these pivots needs repair.
The A-arm kits provide access to components for these joints, commonly found on ATVs and quads. Distinguish upper and lower arms, side and suspension configuration. Also check how many positions the part number covers. Do not assume that a kit for one arm includes every joint in the front suspension.
Forks and shocks: choose the scope of the repair
At the front, fork kits must be distinguished from fork seals and dust seals. Replacing the sealing elements is a different job from also working on the guide bushings. Check the diameter, fork type and exact contents, including whether they cover one fork leg or the assembly specified for the application.
The shock kits require the same attention to the scope of supply: an internal rebuild and replacement of the mounting supports or bearings are different operations. Check the position and included components. Work involving the hydraulic circuit or gas charge must follow the procedure and use the equipment specified for that shock.
Prepare for fitting with the correct part number
The brand provides assembly diagrams and installation videos. Consult the documentation for the part number and vehicle to identify the order of the components, their orientation and fitting requirements. Product-family images help identify the type of kit; compatibility, dimensions and the contents listed on the product page should guide the choice.
Before completing the repair, check the condition of shafts, bearing seats and contact surfaces. Follow the applicable cleaning, lubrication, adjustment and tightening instructions. Choosing the correct kit does not replace this inspection: it lets you prepare the necessary parts and carry out work suited to the assembly being repaired.
