Helmets

Motorcycle helmets by use and riding style

Motorcycle helmets are an essential part of your riding gear and should be selected according to your environment, riding frequency, and position on the bike. A full-face helmet prioritizes coverage, while modular models offer added versatility. Jet or urban helmets are well suited to city riding, while trail, motocross, enduro, and trial designs address specific off-road needs.

Before buying, check the manufacturer’s size chart and measure your head circumference according to its instructions. The helmet should fit firmly and evenly, without excessive pressure points or looseness, since fit directly affects stability and comfort. Also check the closure system, stated weight, ventilation, field of vision, and how easily the liner can be removed when this feature matters for maintenance.

How to check that a helmet is suitable

• Define the primary use: city riding, highway travel, mixed routes, sport riding, or off-road use.
• Verify the size, interior shape, and fit in your usual riding position.
• Check the shield type, room for glasses, and the stated compatibility of any motorcycle accessories you plan to use.
• Check the markings and applicable approval requirements before riding on public roads.
• If you need replacement parts, confirm that the component matches the helmet and its version exactly.
