Tear-Off Films for Off-Road Goggles and Pinlock Inserts for Visors
Tear-off films for motocross or enduro goggles and Pinlock inserts for compatible helmet visors are two different optical solutions. Tear-offs are transparent films layered over the goggle lens; they let you remove the outer layer when mud, dust, or water builds up. Laminated versions combine several layers that can be removed one at a time.
A Pinlock insert fits inside a helmet visor designed for this system and helps reduce condensation. It is not installed on a goggle lens: its shape, seal, and contact points must match the compatible visor. The goggle model therefore determines the correct tear-off, while the helmet and visor models determine the Pinlock insert.
How to Choose Each Visibility Solution
- Tear-off compatibility: check the exact goggle model, lens outline, and position of the mounting posts.
- Tear-off format: choose individual or laminated films according to the system supported by the lens and the riding conditions.
- Pinlock compatibility: identify the helmet visor, confirm that it is Pinlock-ready, and check the shape and pin positions.
- Separate installation: clean the corresponding surface, avoid touching the optical area, and follow the specific procedure for the goggles or visor.
Before riding, check each system separately. Tear-offs should be taut, free of wrinkles, and have an accessible pull tab; the Pinlock insert should sit evenly against the inside of the visor. Precise identification helps avoid mixing accessories designed for different installations and uses.
