Intake Components

Motorcycle intake components

Intake components are part of the system that directs and regulates airflow into the engine. This category includes items such as intake manifolds, ducts, diffusers, velocity stacks, couplers, plates, and related solutions for carburetor or fuel-injection systems. Their specific function depends on their position in the system and the motorcycle’s configuration.

Before choosing a part, identify the component being replaced and check how it attaches to the rest of the assembly. The connection shape, available space, orientation, and match with the reed cage, throttle body, or carburetor are essential considerations. A part that looks similar may not fit if its connection points or geometry do not match.

How to choose the right replacement

• Identify the application: check the motorcycle’s make, model, year, engine displacement, and fuel system type when the manufacturer uses them to define compatibility.
• Review the connections: compare diameters, mounting points, clamps, and the position of each port with the installed component.
• Consider the function: replacing a coupler or intake manifold is different from changing airflow routing with a duct, diffuser, or velocity stack.
• Check the assembly: for kits or parts associated with fuel injection, the ECU, or the reed cage, verify that all components belong to the same configuration.
• Inspect the condition: look for cracks, deformation, looseness, or leaks in the removed parts before deciding which replacement you need.
