The motorcycle lubrication system keeps engine oil moving through the engine areas that need reduced friction and helps carry away some heat. This category includes motorcycle parts related to storing, routing, filtering and monitoring the lubricant, such as oil pumps, filters, screens, plugs, gaskets and other circuit components.

Choosing the right component starts with identifying the motorcycle, engine and model year, then confirming the specific function of the part being replaced. A filter is not selected the same way as a pump, sensor or gasket, even though all are part of the same system. The marking on the removed part, technical documentation and original dimensions can help prevent mistakes.

How to check an oil circuit replacement part

Verify that the part matches the required position and function within the lubrication circuit.
Compare the shape, mounting points, connections, threads and measurements with the original component, without forcing installation.
For filters, screens and flow components, check the installation direction and the condition of the related gaskets.
If replacement involves the oil pump, sensor or a line, consult the motorcycle manufacturer’s specifications before starting work.
In the event of leaks, insufficient pressure or unusual noises, identify the cause of the fault rather than replacing a part without diagnosis.
